I have greatly neglected this poor blog and the five people who read it, for too long. So in an attempt to regain some of my "followers", I present to you an offering of many months worth of pictures. Actually, I think this only covers 2 months, but there are more posts coming. With school winding down, and me staying up later for no apparent reason (Curt thought I was taking a quiz, which in hind sight would have been a good idea), I've found a few minutes hours to sit down and update some stuff. So here it goes...
July 2010 Camping Trip
Three words: Cold, WET, and Fun!
For being 115 down in the valley, it was nice to pull out some winter clothes and rain gear for a few days. It rained hard every afternoon, one of which all the non-believers of dark storm clouds, and those who had no choice, got stuck in a horribly hard, freezing cold rain on the drive back to camp in open sandrails. However, my ever wise and Griswald loving brother had the good fortune of driving his station wagon (yes my 24 year old brother owns a station wagon) where my mother, myself, and my two children stayed warm and DRY! After realizing the error of their ways, my aunt and cousin with her two small children (soaked blankets and all) joined us in the toasty wagon. The poor guys on the other hand only had trash bags to protect them from the freezing hail rain. And of course this was the trip I chose to listen to Curt and pack light, he had one pair of pants and one jacket, now soaked through and through.

The kids loved being outdoors, running free and riding on the power wheels we brought. We had great food, and when it was raining, we had the RV to hideout in. We took trail-rides each day in the four buggies we had and even took the canoe out for a quick spin before another storm rolled through.
The White Mountain area was green, beautiful, and a great place for us to spend a weekend with family!
August 2010
My Uncle-in-Law is the Fire Chief at the station at Sky Harbor Airport, and he invited us down one day for a tour. Considering they only get called out when a plane crashes or catches fire, they're not too busy. In the 2 hours we were there we only saw two other guys, the rest were apparently enjoying nap time which lasts from 1-4pm. So we had the whole, very large, station to ourselves. Needless to say it was a great day for my two "boys". Greg took us out in two of the monstrous trucks, sprayed a tank full of water onto the tarmac, helped Kempton work the fire hose, and then took us out on the patio to watch the planes come and go 100 feet away. Definitely the best fire station tour we'll ever go on!
August 2010
Before school started up Curt wanted to go on a route with my dad, so him and Kempton got to take a ride to California one weekend. Kempton was in heaven in "Papa's big blue truck" and since car seats aren't necessary he sat up front the entire time. Kempton made it clear that Curt wasn't allowed to come up and sit in the seat, and apparently told him he had to stay in back, or sit on the ice chest. Kempton loved following my dad around helping him with all the details. On the way back, they stopped at the beach, which was K's first time, and according to Curt, the kid loved it. He would stand on the beach and then run frantically from the incoming waves. It was a quick trip, but one I know Kempton and Curt enjoyed, but I think my dad had the most fun spoiling his grandson!

August is still HOT so we spend a lot of time in doors, and for Kempton that apparently also means being naked. So we find ways to keep ourselves entertained. Brooke got a forward facing car seat in July and it's fair to say she was ecstatic! She also started walking halfway through August which meant she was getting into everything. Her favorite place was (and still is) the refrigerator and will rush it anytime the door opens. Kempton as usual is just silly somedays!
On this particular day, the end of summer monsoons brought the temps down enough to play outdoors. For my kids, a hose + some dirt = FUN! Normally my anxiety and disdain for getting dirty gave way to this little girl having the time of her life crawling through the mud. Kempton was always weird about getting real messy (go figure) but Brooke never hesitates to make a mess. It made for some cute shots of my mud buddies.
September 2010
With Brooke's birthday coming up, I had to get some new pictures to fill all the empty frames that had been occupying my walls for so long. I may be biased, but my kids are stinkin' adorable!

However, my adorable children are also horribly mischievous! I was attempting to do some homework while these two played in K's room. After awhile it became too quiet, and after wandering the house to find my "sweet" children, I stumbled upon picture #1 of my pantry and it's entire contents spilling out of the closet. Brooke was proudly standing on the pile while Kempton was hanging like a monkey from the top shelf. After some frustration and annoyance knowing I was going to have to restock everything by expiration date again, I decided I needed a change. Which led to image 2 and 3. I turned my "coat" closet (2) in to our storage pantry and the "pantry closet" (3) into our everyday stuff pantry. I happen to like, can't live without, need enjoy organization so I'm kind of dealing with glad my children destroyed my system. Since then I've gotten those cansolidator thingys and now I need more cans!
October 2010
Oh October, how we love the mid 80's and the much enjoyed rainstorms that floods our streets. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and your puddles are thoroughly romped in. Not one curb went untouched, not one puddle was left still. My children thank you for hours of enjoyment. Feel free to come again!
The rest of October and November still to come, soon (fingers crossed)!
